3-Day Quickie Itinerary (First-Timers, Limited Time)
Day 1: Arrive + Explore General Luna
Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Sayak Airport. Take a van to General Luna (45 min, ₱300–400 ~USD 5–7). Check into your accommodation. Walk Tourism Road, grab lunch at a carinderia or café (₱200–350 ~USD 3.50–6). Explore the beach at sunset. Dinner: Kabuaa, Tikman, or Shaka (₱400–800 ~USD 7–14). Day 2: Three Islands Tour
Early morning: Light breakfast at a carinderia (₱100–150). Book a Three Islands tour boat if you haven't already (₱1,500–2,000 per boat ~USD 27–36, shared with others if needed). 9 am–3 pm: Three Islands Tour (Naked Island, Daku Island, Guyam Island). Included lunch on the boat. Snorkeling, swimming, photos. Late afternoon: Return to GL, rest at accommodation. Dinner: Try Happy Fish for fresh seafood (₱800–1,200 ~USD 14–21). Breakfast at Cloud 9 stalls. Mid-morning: Ride south to Magpupungko (30 min). Check the tide times beforehand (ask your accommodation). Spend 1.5 hours exploring pools, taking photos, snorkeling. Afternoon: Return to GL, rest. Dinner: Casual meal (₱400–700 ~USD 7–12). Evening: Pack, prepare for departure. Budget: ₱1,200–1,800 (~USD 21–32).

Total: ₱17,800–23,500 (~USD 317–420) plus flights. This is the "real trip" — you'll have genuinely experienced the island in depth.
Extended Stay (10–14 days): Digital Nomad Mode
If you're working remotely or taking an extended break, Siargao is ideal for 2 weeks. Settle into one neighborhood (GL or Cloud 9), establish a routine (morning coffee, work, lunch, water activity, dinner), and let the pace slow. Costs drop with longer accommodation stays (weekly rates 10–15% cheaper than nightly). You'll meet other long-term travelers, get good restaurant recommendations, and actually learn the island rather than just ticking boxes.
Daily budget on extended stay: ₱2,000–3,500 (~USD 36–63) including accommodation, food, and occasional activities. Total for 2 weeks: ₱28,000–49,000 (~USD 500–880) plus flights.
Itinerary Planning Tips
Weather/Tide-Dependent Activities
Magpupungko, Three Islands Tour, Sugba Lagoon, and Sohoton Cove are all tide/weather-dependent. Check tide times daily and weather forecast. Plan these activities first; fill other days with motorbike exploration, food, rest, and surfing (which happens rain or shine).
Pace Yourself
The island is small; you don't need to rush. A "do everything" mindset leads to burnout by day 4. Pick 2–3 major activities per week, fill the rest with smaller explorations, food, and rest. You'll enjoy Siargao more if you're not exhausted.
Backup Plans
Monsoon months (June–August) can see boat tour cancellations. If traveling then, have indoor options: good restaurants, coworking spaces for work, yoga classes, massages. Rainy days are still fun if you're not depending solely on water activities.
Flexibility
You don't need to book every day in advance. Pick your first 2–3 days, then decide the rest based on weather, how you feel, and who you've met. Meeting other travelers often leads to spontaneous group boat charters, motorbike trips, or just hanging out.

Digital Nomad's Day

Practical Information
3-day minimum: Hit highlights, rush-paced, ₱7,800–10,500 (~USD 139–188) + flights. 5-day ideal: Balanced, good depth, ₱12,700–17,000 (~USD 227–303) + flights. 7-day full: Serious experience, ₱17,800–23,500 (~USD 317–420) + flights. 10–14 days: Extended stay, ₱28,000–49,000 (~USD 500–880) + flights, daily rate drops with longer bookings. Best for first-timers: 5–7 days. Major activities to book in advance (peak season): Accommodation (all year), boat tours (Sept–Nov), surf lessons. Best balance: 2 major activities (boat tour, lagoon/cave visit), 3–4 days surfing/learning, 2–3 days rest/exploration.
Moving On From Siargao
Onward travel is straightforward: fly back to Manila or Cebu, then connect elsewhere in the Philippines or internationally. No direct ferries to Bohol, Palawan, Mindanao, or other nearby islands — you need to return to a hub. This makes Siargao ideal as a standalone trip (1–2 weeks) or a mid-journey stop when island-hopping the Philippines. If you're combining destinations, allow 3–5 days in Siargao minimum; 1–2 days feels like you missed the point.
